On December 12, Seventh and Eighth grade students and their parents had the in person opportunity to learn about the career academy, career and technical education (CTE), international baccalaureate (IB) programs, Cambridge/Advanced International Certificate of Education (AICE) and other school programs available in each of Volusia County’s ten high schools.
Teachers, and students who are currently enrolled in these programs were on-site and spoke with 7th and 8th grade students and parents.

To begin the application process, you can print out the Career Academy Application by clicking here. ALL APPLICATIONS ARE DUE BY JANUARY 31, 2020. Applicants will receive a letter of acceptance or denial before the school registration process begins.
In zone students have priority to CTE programs and academies, Out of zone students’ access to CTE programs and academies is based on available capacity of the school and program .

ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY CLUSTER
Are you detail-oriented? Do you want to know how things work, or enjoy solving problems? In the Engineering & Technology Education cluster, students learn how to apply mathematics, science and technology concepts to solve problems quantitatively in engineering projects involving design, development or production in various technologies.
Are you good working with your hands? Can you figure out how a machine works? In Manufacturing you might design a new product, decide how the product will be made, or make the product. You might work on cars, computers, appliances, airplanes, or electronic devices. Students prepare for careers that require planning, managing and performing the processing of materials into intermediate or final products and related professional and technical support activities.

Health science workers promote health and wellness. They diagnose and treat injuries and disease. As a physician, dentist, or nurse, you could work directly with patients.
