ACADEMY OF CULINARY DESIGN

The Academy provides an in-depth experience of the Culinary and Hospitality industries. Through classroom labs, off-site volunteer opportunities, and local industry mentors, students gain valuable knowledge, experience, and insight into one of the fastest growing sectors of the economy. The Academy uses the Florida Restaurant Association’s curriculum, ProStart, to provide industry standard training. Additionally, students have the opportunity to earn the ServSafe industry certifcation.

ACADEMY OF DIGITAL MEDIA AND DESIGN

The Academy provides students with the opportunity to combine concepts of digital media and photography while creating various printed materials to display their work. While integrating academic courses for a hands-on curriculum, students take Creative Photography and Digital Media courses that use industry standard software and professional camera equipment. The course work prepares students for careers such as: Graphic Artist, Photographer, and Digital Publisher.

ACADEMY OF ALLIED HEALTH

The Academy provides students with an opportunity to learn about and gain hands-on experience for careers in the healthcare industry, such as athletic trainer, dental hygienist, diagnostic medical sonographer, dietitian, medical technologist, occupational therapist, physical therapist, radiographer, respiratory therapist and speech language pathologist. Students take a progression of courses in the academy including Medical Skills and Services which offers CPR/AED and First Aid Certification; Health Science Anatomy and Physiology; and Allied Health 3. Senior level courses provide students with real- world experiences through the partnership with Florida Hospital, as well as an opportunity to earn industry certifications.

ADDITIONAL CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION (CTE) OPPORTUNITIES

CTE programs prepare secondary students with technical,academic and employability skills for success in the workplace and in further education. CTE programs may provide post-secondary dual enrollment, industry certification and work-based learning opportunities. The School offers the following CTE programs: Allied Health Assisting; Building Trades and Construction Design Technologies; Culinary Arts; Digital Video Technology; Diversified Career Technology/On-the-Job Training; Horticulture Science and Services; and Marketing, Management and Entrepreneurial Principles.
