The summer is rushing by! I always look to the 4th of July as the official middle of the summer and a time to celebrate the birthday of America, thanking those who fight for our freedom, bbqing with your friends, spending time on our beautiful Volusia County Beaches and the amazing fireworks! Oh, the fireworks! There’s something magical about seeing the sky light up in red, white, and blue. 

I’ve pulled a list of fireworks displays and Independence Day events happening in Volusia County just for you!

Firework Displays & Celebrations

Daytona Beach

Celebrate July 4th in Daytona Beach
There will be a Fourth of July Veterans Parade, beginning at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 4, on Main Street. The parade will pay tribute to veterans and first responders and is being organized by Volusia Veterans.  

Five things to do in Daytona Beach from Daytona CVB

The parade will start on Main Street at Atlantic Avenue and travel west on Main Street to the base of the bridge.

In addition to the parade, there will be a special July 4th Veterans Ceremony beginning at 9 a.m. by the Clock Tower between the Boardwalk and the Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort that will be presented by Volusia Veterans and is sponsored by the city.

An extended fireworks display over the Atlantic Ocean in Daytona Beach will start at about 9:45 p.m. Spectators can view the show from the boardwalk behind the Hilton Oceanfront Resort, on the beach or in Breakers Oceanfront Park. The pyrotechnic extravaganza follows a free concert at 7:15 p.m. by the Alter Eagles, an Eagles tribute band, at the Oceanfront Bandshell. City of Debary

City of DeBary will hold their 2023 July 4th Fireworks on July 4, 2023 at Gemini Springs Park – 37 Dirksen Drive in DeBary. Fireworks start at 9 pm, other family fun starts at 6 pm

City of Deltona

Join us for a fun-filled Fourth of July celebration at Deltona’s All American Blast event! Bring your family and friends to Dewey O. Boster Park at 5 pm for an evening of free entertainment. And make sure you stick around until 9:15 pm for an incredible fireworks display you won’t want to miss! The fun begins on July 4th from 5-9 pm, with the fireworks starting at 9:15 pm at Dewey O. Boster Sports Complex 0 1200 Saxon Blvd in Deltona.
***No extra fireworks/sparklers, BBQs, or pets (except for service animals) are allowed.

DeLand

Families are invited to join the City of DeLand as we celebrate our nation at DeLand Parks and Recreation’s annual Firecracker Festival.

Admission to this year’s Firecracker Festival is free and will begin at 6 p.m. July 3 at Earl Brown Park, 750 South Alabama Avenue. Powered by RC Hill Honda Powersports, the event will feature numerous vendors, food trucks, the very popular pie-eating contest presented by Kermit’s Key West Key Lime Shoppe and a kid’s zone organized by Journey Church, among other activities.

Pop Culture Poets will provide a free concert at the Earl Brown Park amphitheater.

The fireworks display by Four Seasons Display, Inc., will take place around 9 p.m. following the concert by the Pop Culture Poets. The concert is lawn seating and guests are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs for the show.

Edgewater

There is so much fun planned for the EDGEfest 4th of July Celebration that we may run out room telling you all about it!

The celebration begins at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, July 4, 2023 at both the City Hall complex (104 North Riverside Drive) and Menard May Park (413 South Riverside Drive).  If you are wondering which location would be best for you, check out these tips:

City Hall complex

• Easier access for those with mobility issues

• More relaxed setting

• Food trucks, vendors, cooling station, live music/DJ, games and activities, restrooms (including a handicap accessible port-o-let)

• Up close view of the fireworks

Menard May Park

• No vehicles allowed so this is a good choice for families with children

• More high energy setting

• DJ, food trucks, vendors, a beer tent hosted by AMVETS, a dunk tank, an inflatable obstacle course,  Gobbler’s Lodge mobile archery range, nerf guns to rent, games and activities and restrooms

• River view of the fireworks

The night will be capped off with a spectacular fireworks show by Zambelli Fireworks launched at dusk from George R. Kennedy Memorial Park so be sure to be settled in your viewing spot at the City Hall complex or Menard May Park by 8:30 PM. 

There will be several public parking lots open:

• Park Avenue and Wilkinson Street

• Edgewater – New Smyrna Cemetery  (700 South Ridgewood Avenue)

• Edgewater United Methodist Church (211 North Ridgewood Avenue)

• Corner of US 1 and Lamont Street (106 Lamont Street)

• Handicapped  – Park Avenue (north and south sides) east of US 1 to Park Place

The boat ramp at George R. Kennedy Memorial Park will be closed from 9:00 PM on July 3rd until approximately 11:00 PM on July 4th. 

Lake Helen

Lake Helen is hosting a Parade that Begins at 10 am Line up starts at 9 am at Fox Glass  Join the City of Lake Helen at Blake Park for Food, Games, Craft Vendors, Activities, Music & Fun after the Parade! There will be Live Music Featuring Saltwater Groove and fireworks begin at 9 pm. Blake Park is located at 493 S. Lakeview DriveLake Helen, Florida 32744

Orange City

Fireworks and Fun in Orange City is Saturday, July 1, 2023 from 5 pm to 9:30 pm!!! 5:00 pm Live music by The Smoking Jackets, kid zone opens, food trucks, general vendors and more!

New Smyrna

Join the New Smyrna Beach July 4th Celebration at Riverside Park – 299 S. Riverside
Event starts at 4 pm, Fireworks start at 9:15 pm

Ormond Beach

Join the City of Ormond Beach for a celebration with music, food trucks, fireworks, and more!
