The Volusia Mom Guide to Volusia County VPK

The Volusia Mom is here to guide you through the exciting world of VPK in Volusia County! Is it just exciting to me because that is the space my family is currently living in? Maybe! But I wanted to help you as a parent get all the resources you need!

If you have a child who will be turning four years old, you want to get information about VPK, which is a Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten program. The program is free to everyone, regardless of your family income, and is aimed at helping children to be prepared to enter kindergarten.

WHY VPK? Studies have shown that students who attend Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) generally do significantly better in kindergarten than students who have not participated in a prekindergarten school readiness program.  VPK is a free, state-funded program.

For more things you should consider when choosing a VPK, check out this interview I did with Ms. Pat Quigley, Director of Inspirations Learning Center.
