AGRISCIENCE ACADEMY

The Academy prepares students for careers in agriscience, horticulture, veterinary assisting, and aquaculture. Through the school farm and the area marine environments, students have opportunities to connect with local projects in agricultural sciences. ACADEMY OF ENGINEERING – Gold Level Academy

The Academy provides training in the engineering and technology career cluster through the national Project Lead The Way program. Activities are hands-on and project-based with an emphasis on robotics and automation, culminating with the Computer Integrated Manufacturing course.

ACADEMY OF ENTERTAINMENT AND SPORTS MARKETING

The Academy develops a solid foundation of marketing, fnancial, and business skills through the use of hands-on activities and project-based curriculum. Students gain print media skills through the use of Adobe Creative Suites software (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, and InDesign) and in producing entertainment/sports papers, promotional videos, and media guides.

CULINARY ARTS ACADEMY

The Academy utilizes the industry-standard, ProStart curriculum, to teach students skills in the hospitality and tourism career cluster. Students in the advanced courses are responsible for the operation of Cuda Café, a school-based restaurant that serves 100-150 people twice weekly, and for Cuda Catering, a catering service available to community organizations.

MEDICAL ACADEMY – Gold Level Academy

The Academy prepares students for a wide variety of healthcare careers and students have the opportunity to participate in health-related training through the Academy’s unique partnership with Florida Hospital. The Academy also has partnerships with the New Smyrna Beach and Edgewater fire/rescue/EMT/ paramedics. Students participate in job shadowing beginning in grade 9 and are offered internship experiences at local medical facilities in grades 11 and 12.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE ACADEMY – Gold Level Academy

The Academy provides students with education in law enforcement including police ethics, crime lab and accident investigation procedures, defense tactics, and crime prevention. The Academy provides shadowing experiences in careers for students who aspire to be attorneys, police offcers, forensic scientists, crime lab technicians, and other criminal justice related felds.

ADDITIONAL CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION (CTE) OPPORTUNITIES

CTE programs prepare secondary students with technical, academic and employability skills for success in the workplace and in further education. CTE programs may provide post-secondary dual enrollment, industry certifcation and work-based learning opportunities. The School offers the following CTE programs: Aquaculture; Construction; Digital Video Technology; Diversifed Career Technology/On-the-Job Training; Early Childhood Education; and Game/Simulation/Animation Visual Design.
