51st Annual Daytona Beach Easter Beach Run

The tradition continues for the 51st Annual Daytona Beach Easter Beach Run scheduled Saturday, March 31, 2018 with 8:00 a.m. registration. This festive, Easter-themed beach run was established in 1967 by the City of Daytona Beach and continues to be a family friendly fun run. The race was first held on Easter Sunday to provide an activity for visiting college students and is now the oldest consecutive footrace in the State of Florida. 2018 marks the 51st anniversary of the run, so come join Forrest Gump, City officials and other special guests on the making of history and 51 years of running, family fun, and Daytona beautiful beaches!

Participants will enjoy a scenic run on the World’s Most Famous Beach while traveling out and back for the 4-mile race, or a 2-mile fun run or health walk. Kids are also welcome to participate in the 1/4-mile race, 100 and 50-yard dash. The Easter Beach Run is professionally chip-timed by the 5K Race Director and prize money is awarded to the first through third male and female winners of the 4-mile race.

Following the race, registered participants head over to title sponsor, Bubba Gump Shrimp, Co. for their world-renown shrimp and grits and other refreshments. Sponsors and vendors will also have tons of treats and information to share throughout the event.

The 4 Mile race begin at 10:00 a.m. at the Historic Daytona Beach Bandshell with a CASH prize for the 4 Mile race. The breakdown features a 1st Place $600 cash prize for Male & Female Split, a 2nd Place $300 cash prize Male & Female Split, and a 3rd Place $100 cash prize Male & Female Split. The 2 Mile run begins at 100:5 a.m. The kids runs begin at 9:45am with a 50 yard dash for ages 3-5 years, a 100 yard dash for ages 6-7 years, and a 1/4 mile run for ages 8-9 years.

Race fees break down per race per registrant with the 2mile and 4mile races Pre-registration fees at $30 and go up to $35 after March 13th through to race day.
The Kids races (50yd/100yd/1/4 mile) are $15 each and after March 13th are $20.

If you would like to pick up your race packet early on Thursday, March 29th head to the Happy Hour Packet Pick-Up party at Mai Tai’s located at 250 N. Atlantic Ave from 4pm to 7pm and enjoy a special happy hour at the bar! Can’t make happy hour? Don’t worry, on Friday, March 30th head to the second pre-race packet pick up held at Dales Shoes which is located at 2596 West International Speedway Blvd, Daytona Beach from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm! Race day packet pickup will begin on Saturday at 8:00am at the Historic Daytona Beach Bandshell behind Ocean Walk Shoppes and the Hilton.

The Awards Ceremony is held at the Historic Oceanfront Bandshell. The special 51st anniversary custom “finisher” medals are given to the first 1,000 runners and walkers completing the race. Awards are also given for the top three overall finishers plus the cash prizes for the 4 Mile race winners! The 2 Mile winners receive Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. Sponsored gift baskets and awards for top the three male and female runners. Each “Kids Race” participant receives a participant medal! All race results will be available online beginning race day.

Awards not picked up race day may be picked up weekdays at the CODB Cultural Services Administrative office at 301 S. Ridgewood Ave. room 165, for 30 days after the race. Awards will be mailed if requested with a $10 check to CODB – P.O. Box 2451 Daytona Beach, FL 32115.

Parking is available in the Ocean Center Garage across from the Ocean Walk Shoppes on A1A. Additional parking available City of Daytona Beach lots, metered spots on city streets, and in private lots on A1A near Main Street.
