The Volusia Mom’s (quick) New Year’s Eve Guide 2018

Posted in: All Ages, Daytona Beach, Tweens and Teens

The New Year takes on a whole different meaning as parents, doesn’t it? Especially as parents to a young child, you may have a godsend of a parent or sitter willing to watch them as the clock turns twelve but for the most of us…near midnight our form of entertainment is in the form of a deep discussion in our own living room regarding exactly how intoxicated is Jenny McCarthy?

While the days of the Razzles countdown may be in my rear view mirror, here a couple of things not to miss to bring in 2019!

If you are heading out for the evening with kids in tow, by all means you should bring in the New Year with One Daytona. In the early evening, there will be balloon artists and kid friendly countdowns at 8p and at 9p. If your kids are older, of course there is Game Time (they are open till nine) and Cobb Theaters to consider while you enjoy the sounds of the Sunshine Mafia and the best 80’s cover band The A+ Team!

Don’t forget the Fairfield Inn and Suites is a great and safe option for the evening. (I just checked the website, the rates starts ar $149)

If you are staying in, did you know that Disney New Year’s Eve fireworks will be livestreamed from Magic Kingdom? Also, if you would like to celebrate with your young ones and actually exist peacefully on New Years Day-Netflix lets you drop that ball whenever you want! There are fourteen options for you to choose from and that info is here.

My resolution this year? Be more like my toddler. This article made some cute points.

Oh…and also watching the Netflix premiere of Taylor Swift’s “Reputation” stadium concert tour film.

Please be Safe, Happy and Healthy! Happy New Year from The Volusia Mom!
