Pictures with sensory-friendly Santa coming to DeLand Regional Library

To children struggling with sensory processing issues, even the most joyous of holiday traditions – a visit with Santa – can be a stressful and overwhelming experience. That’s why the DeLand Regional Library is offering pictures with sensory-friendly Santa.

The free event will take place from 10 a.m. to noon Monday, Nov. 25, at the library, 130 E. Howry Ave. The first hour of the photo session with Santa will emphasize a comfortable, calm, sensory-friendly environment and is reserved for children with sensory processing disorders and their families. Then, from 11 a.m. to noon, Santa will be available for photos to all families on a first-come, first-served basis. Don’t forget to bring your camera or camera-equipped phone to snap your family keepsake.

Library staff will be on hand to assist with the pictures.
