AdventHealth to Provide Free Physicals for Volusia County Schools Student Athletes

Posted in: All Ages, Tweens and Teens

AdventHealth will perform free physicals for Volusia County Schools high school student athletes on May 21 and 23 from 4 – 9 p.m.

These annual mandatory pre-participation physicals for student athletes will include assessments of vitals and functional movement, as well as a medical screening.

AdventHealth will perform these sports physicals at the Daytona International Speedway in theAdventHealth injector.

Centrally located within Volusia County and with plenty of available parking, the hospital’s gate entrance at the racetrack will give the students the opportunity to experience a race day via virtual-reality goggles and play outdoor games such as giant Jenga and cornhole.

Each high school will provide transportation to-and-from the events.

Students must bring this paperwork, completed and signed by their parents, in order to be transported to the event.

These free physicals are provided as part of AdventHealth’s historic $2 million, five-year partnership with Volusia County Schools. The partnership strives to address three key issues affecting students: student athlete health; career development in the healthcare industry; and chronic absenteeism.
