Internationally acclaimed ABBA tribute band performing at Daytona Beach.
The global sensation ABBA MANIA, a tribute group for ABBA, announced they will perform at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, at the Peabody Auditorium, 600 Auditorium Blvd. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 4 and will be available for purchase at the Peabody Box Office, online at www.peabodyauditorium.org or by phone via Ticketmaster at 800-745-3000. Ticket prices are from $40 to $100 plus surcharges.
ABBA is a Swedish pop group that formed in Stockholm in 1972 by Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, and Anni-Frid Lyngstad. From 1974 to 1982, they topped music charts worldwide as one of the most commercially successful acts in the history of pop music.
Created in 1999, the tribute group is a chance for people of all ages to enjoy timeless songs such as “Dancing Queen,” “Waterloo,” “Mamma Mia,” “The Winner Takes it All,” “Super Trouper,” “Fernando,” “Take A Chance On Me” and many more.
Starting next year, ABBA MANIA will venture on their eighth tour in the U.S. with 30 shows in six weeks, including a performance at the Smith Centre in Las Vegas. Previously, the show ventured to France, Denmark, Belgium, Spain, South Africa, New Zealand, Singapore, Australia and the United Kingdom, making them the world’s most successful touring ABBA show.
In 2004, ABBA MANIA participated in a televised event celebrating the 30th anniversary of the original band’s debut on Eurovision. The program, which also included original member Björn Ulvaeus and stars from the hit musical Mamma Mia, was viewed by more than 11 million people.
