It might be summer vacation, but the school year is right around the corner and along with it comes the endless list of back-to-school supplies. Kids can help outfit their entire school with supplies and all they have to do is say “thanks.” Crayola’s “Thank A Teacher” contest is all about showing teacher appreciation while earning a chance to win over $20,000 in prizes for kids and their schools.
In celebration of Crayola’s 115th anniversary, the company has launched the “Thank A Teacher” campaign. The goal of the program is to create one million thank-yous for teachers across the country. Kids can create handmade thank you notes for their teachers and upload them to the campaign website where they can be viewed by teachers and entered for a chance to win prizes. “A colorful, handwritten thank-you note is one of the most creative ways you can show your appreciation to a teacher who has touched your life,” said Smith Holland, President and CEO of Crayola.

The thank-you notes will be judged on specific criteria like originality and inspiration. Ten finalists will be selected to win an amazing prize package which includes a $10,000 classroom makeover for the teacher and a one-year supply of Crayola products for the entire school. The winning kids will also receive a $1,000 scholarship. One grand prize winner will be selected to have their thank-you note featured on a box of Crayola crayons.
Parents can help their kids upload their hand-drawn cards at Crayola.com/ThankATeacher. Entries will be accepted from now until August 25. Winners will be notified in September.
